You need to have a valid campus network account to use databases off-campus. If you do not have a campus computer account, use the following procedure to set up your campus network computer account:

  • Login to the Shepherd University RAIL system - http://www.shepherd.edu/rail/
  • Click on "Next Stop Rail -- All Aboard!"
  • Click on "Personal Information"
  • Click on "Password Management"
  • Click on "Retrieve original password"
  • Accept the User Policy
  • The username and password for your campus network account are listed. You will use this username and password to search EbscoHost, Gale Literature Resource, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, etc.
